The Daily Express understands that the main points of the Egyptian settlement which Lord AUenby is urging are: — .British troops to evacuate Cairo and Alexandria, the British to garrison the Suez Canal at Kantara, Port Said, and El Lubi; Britain to retain the air station at Aboukir; abolition of the capitulations; Britain to be responsible for foreign interests in Egypt; the Sudan to retain its present status for four years, when the question will be reviewed; and the abolition of the High Commissionership and substitution of a Consul-General-ship similar to the post held by Lord Kitchener.
