MOUNT EDEN SERVICES.

Sir,—May I ask why the residents of Monnt Eden are to badly served in the necessities-, of water and a reasonable tram service. Quite frequently i here is scarcely a drop of water to be obtained after 9 a.m. When the supply is normal it is insufficient in quantity and never at any time fit 'o dr:nk. The scarcity of trains is an offence, to all reason. Li Queen Street one can watch, day and mebt, trirms half empty going to other suburbs, while half the evening is wasted waiting for a Mount Eden tram, only to Hud the chain up. The time has surely arrived (or a fresh allocation of tran: s to the various suburbs. There is one district that would be well served with half its present supply.

AUCKLANDER.
