SOLDIER SETTLEMENTS.

Sir,—l see thai a commission is likely to be appointed to inquire into the purchase of the Motutara estate. Of this case I know nothing, but, I do know that returned soldiers are daily walking off their farms secured for them under the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act after losing hundreds of pounds and months, and in some cases years, of hard i oil. If a commission is to be appointed do not confine it to the above-mentioned estate alonp, but let it embrace the whole of the settlements held by ex-soldiers, and so prevent this wholesale walking out. A Victim.
