HELENSVILLE NOTES.
THE WATER SUPPLY. TbT TELEGRAPH.—OWN COEBESPONDENT.] HELENSVILLE, Satusday. Two visits to the dam have been made during this week by the chairman and engineer of the Town Board, also by tbe chairman of directors and the manager of the Kaipara Dairy Company. Subsequently a consultation with Mr. Munro Wilson (engineer) was held, and it waa decided to continue the pew construction works immediately. These works comprise (1) Raising the small auxiliary dam 3ftij (2) building another small auxiliary dam just above the falls with the stone convenient to hand; (3) putting the road in order through the reserve to enable the material for building the new main dam to be put on the job for next winter; (4) clearing and cleaning up the site of the new main dam; (5) ordering all material for immediate requirements. At a recent meeting of the Helensville Cattle Dipping Association the tender of Mr. J. Simcock was accepted for the construction' of the dip, which is located near the North Auckland Farmers' Co-operative Company's saleyards, and will be completed by October 22. Cattle are not allowed to be taken to the Westfield market from this district until dipped. The tender of Messrs. Osborne and Leech, £326, was accepted for the interior renovation of the Helensville Presbyterian Church, the work to be completed by the middle of November. The annual meeting" of -the Helensville Tennis Club was held this week, there being a large attendance of members The finances of the club are in a sound condition. An additional asphalt eourt is about to be laid down, making three courts altogether. The erection of a pavilion will be undertaken a£ once.
