VICTORIAN MINISTRY.
DEFEAT ON WHEAT POOL.
RESIGNATION DISCUSSED. Australian and N.Z Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 28. In the Legislative .Assembly the Ministry was defeated by 33 votes to 28, the Country and Labour Parties voting together. The Ministry offered a voluntary wheat pool <in lieu of the Country Party's request for a compulsory pooh After interviewing the Governor, the Premier, Mr. H. S. W. Lawson stated that he had not decided whether to ask for a dissolution of the State Parliament or merely to resign and leave it to the Governor to commission one of the leaders of the other parties to form a Ministry. The State Cabinet has adopted a resolution strongly upholding the principle of an Australian wheat pool and stating that in the meantime a State pool will .be established.
