N.S.W. FLOODS RECEDE.
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE.
HEAVY LOSSES OF STOCK. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 28.
As • the floods in the Northern Rivers district recede, reports from' outlying districts previously cut off by the flood waters, show that losses of stock and" crops and the darnage generally, are very serious and widespread. Much suffering was endured by marooned people, and many sensational escapes are reported. In a number of cases houses were washed away bodily. People in the flooded townships are now busily cleaning up the deep mud deposited in the streets and houses, removing the debris, including dead animals, and righting many houses which were shifted from their foundations.
