Dr. A. W. Izard and Messrs. A. Cooper, G. F. Fache and J. D. Harper, of tho Pensions Board, left for Hamilton by iho Main Trunk express laet evening.
Mr. W. J. Ralph left for Wellington by the mid-day express yesterday, to 8 (- tend tho conference between tho Mineowners' Association and tho Miners' Federation, which opens on Friday.
Major John Whitney, who recently returned from an extended visit to Britain, was present at the annual meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society last owning, Members gave him a cordial welcome, in response to which ho related some of his experiences while abroad.
The Rev. J. E. Parsons, who succeeded thb late Rev. Principal Garland as mini:,. tor of Mount Eden Methodist Church, has been compelled by ill-health to rest from the active ministry for the n«t year. With Mrs. Parsons and child, he will sail for England by tho Corinthic, leaving Wellington on April 23. The Rev. W. Rlado has been appointed to snpplv the Mount Eden pulpit in the absence of Mr. Parsons.
