KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR.
WELLINGTON FATALITY. COMMENT BY THE CORONER. [BT TELEGRATtH. — ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. After hearing the evidence at the inquest concerning the death of William Edward Forster Nattrass, who was knocked down by a motor-car on December 3, the coroner returned a verdict to the effect that deceased died as the result of injuries received through beingjmocked down by a car driven by John Fearon. The coroner said the evidence appeared to show that the speed was considerably in excess of twenty-five miles an hour, as stated by the driver. Considering the position of the tramcar from which deceased had alighted, and the narrowness of the road, as well as the fact that there were several persons standing near the corner, having also alighted from the tram, the pace at which the hill was being taken was quite excessive, unreasonable, and dangerous.
