EARLY MORNING FIRE.

OUTBREAK AT HAMILTON. DAMAGE . DONE TO A SHOP. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Tuesday. A fire broke out at 20 minutes to one o'clock this morning in a. greengrocer's shop in "Victoria Street owned by the Government State Fire Office and occupied by Mrs. Fox and her two young children. The back portion of the premises, consisting of four or five living rooms, was destroyed. The occupants were in, bed. One of the children woke up, and, smelling smoke, roused the other child, and with considerable difficulty they made their escape. At the same time "some members of the Waikato Club saw the fire and gave the alarm. The smoke was very intense, and two of the firemen were overcome, bnt recovered later. The premised had only recently been purchased by the State Fire Office with the intention .of erecting a new block on the site.
