! ASSOCIATION KNOWS NO PARTY. A resolution disclaiming any connection with any political party was passed by & general meeting of the Auckland Returnei Solders' Association last evening. Thd constitution of the association still makes party political action illegal, tbo onlyaction allowed being the submission of questions on matters affect soldiers to candidates for Parliamentary honours. The mover of the motion mentioned tbatga number of members of the Auckland Association who were contesting seats were pledged to support the Reform Party on a vote cf no-confidsnce. and the impression was growing in the public mind that the association was supporting the Reform Party. A member pointed out that in the south certain soldier candidates were pledged to support the Liberal Party.
