A deputation from the Dominion Estate Agents and Land Auctioneers' Association, waited on the Minister for Internal Affairs, the Hon. J. B. Hine, yesterday, with reference to the reintroduction of an amending Bill. His attention was drawn particularly to the need for an improved interpretation of the Land Agents Act the necessity for preventing unlicensed people from dealing in land on commission, the rejection by magistrates of applications for licenses for undesirable persons, an equitable disposal of bond money on aciault of an agent, and the inequitable -vo-king of the pr-sent provision reSardmar wiifi.cn mithoruie: lor the sale '.: 'and. etc. in reply the Minister said he was pleased to receive the deputation, but he did not think there was anv prospect of an amending Bill being brought down this session. He could later on give his views on the matters put forward after careful consideration, and would try to remedy some of the things complained or, especially those referring to undesirable persons being licensed, and to there being no power to cancel a license for general breaches of the law. He would bring before the Minister for Justice the question of the discretionary power of magistrates to refuse licenses where such was considered accessary. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. At the annual meeting of the Dominion Estate Agents and Land Auctioneers' Association of New Zealand the following officers were elected :—President. Mr. A. A. Gellatly (Wellington); presidents, Messrs. J. Clarke (Taranaki), E. C. Stanlev (Waikato); treasurer, Mr. S. Harcourt (Wellington); auditor, Mr. E. W. Hunt (Wellington).
