MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS.

LYING IN A POOL OF BLOOD.

SUGGESTION OF FOUL PLAY.

Strange circumstances surrounded the discovery of a married man, Mr. William Waugh, of 60, Manakau Road, Parnell, lying unconscious in an alleyway beneath Parnell Bridge, last evening. The injured man, who is a pork butcher by trade, was discovered by a passer-by, and the police found tha& he was lying in a pool of blood with an ugly abrasion on the forehead. His purse was empty, and though no weapon was found near the spot, it i s considered that foul play was not unlikely. ■ Mr. Waugh was taken to the hospital and was reported to have partially regained consciousness at a late hour last night.
