FATALITY NEAR WHANGAREI. I

WHANGAREI, Thursday, While engaged in jacking logs up I steep siding at Nukutawhiti on Tuesdayji native named Kuta Tana met with fa. fatal accident. j At the inquest yesterday the evidence showed that the deceased was a widowjlr, aged 41 years, working as a bushfaifr! One of the logs he was working %p slipped, and killed him, I Exactly how the accident occurred ccpld not be shown, since he was working alone at the time, and no one knew of She accident till his' dead body was found at, about mid-day. I The jury returned a verdict of accidental death while engaged at his ordinary work owing, apparently, to a log striking him on the back of the head I
