BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

A good ton© again prevailed on the Stock Exchange yesterday. Business was reported in New Zealand War Loans, 1938, at £95 10s, with further inquiry at £95 7s 6d, sellers £95 15s. In banks, New Ze-ilands (fully paid) were done at £19, sellers closing at £19 2s 6d, buyers £18 18s 6d. Insurances were firmer. Business was reported in New Zealands at 34s 6d. and late buyers v ere offering 34s 9d, sellers asking 355. Business was also reported in South British at £9 10s. more being 1 wanted at £9 8s 6d. with £9 10s still quoted by sellers. For Nationals buyers were offering 84s, with sellers at 86s. In shipping, Devonporfc Ferry sold at 29s and Huddart-Paikers were done at 47s and 46s 9d. P. and o.'s (deferred stock) had sellers at £610, and buyers at £595. In woollens, buyers of Kaiapois ford.) advanced offers to £8 ss, sellers £8 6s. In miscellaneous lines New Zealand Refrigerating (new issue) had sale at 26s 6d. and Wilsons Cements at 15s lid. In minin™ Talismans fluctuated, selling freely at from lis 8d to lis sd. with late sellers at lis 6d and buyers back to 10s 6d.
