POLICE COURT NEWS.
FINED FOR BAD LANGUAGE.
A brief sitting of tho Police Court was held on Saturday, before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M.
A young man named Richard Holmes admitted having made use of obscene languago. The police evidence was to the effect that accused was in the company of a soldier, when the latter took a book fron a soldier's gift-book bin. A constable who saw the incident remonstrated with tho soldier, and in the argument that ensued the ncoubed made use of the language complained of. A fine of £5 and costs was imposed. Two first-offending inebriates were convicted and discharged, and one forfeited his bail. Daniel Hogujj, tor a third offence, was fined 20s.
