THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

Theih Excellencies the Governor-General and the Countess of Liverpool had no public engagements yesterday. In the morning the Countess attended the Dominion gift-packing at the Town Hail. This evening Their Excellencies will attend the 26th annual meeting of the Auckland Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association. The Earl of Liverpool will present certificates and medallions of the association and other decorations. Their Excellencies have extended their patronage to the patriotic carnival to be held at Ellerslie to-morrow. The Governor-Gen-eral has engagements which prevent his attending, but the Countess will be present if possible.
