Valintine, director of military hospitals, left for the South last night. Mr. J. C. Jones, of Wellington. New Zealand manager Huddart-Parker and Co.. is at the Star Hotel. Mr. C. M. Emanuel returned to Auckland yesterday by the Makiira, after a three-months' visit to Australia. The Rev. P. R. Paris, chaplain to tha forces, who has been in charge of the. Dominion Road Methodist Church for the past two years, has been appointed to take charge of the United Institute at Featherston camp. Mr. G. Fenwick. managing director of the Otago Daily Times, the Hon. W. J. Geddis. M.L.C.. managing director of the New Zealand Times and Napier Telefraph. and Mr. F. Pirani, chairman of the 'rovincial Section of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association, who are among those to visit Britain and France at the invi- , tation of the British Ministry of Information, arrived by the Main Trunk express yesterday morning. Mr. C. Earle, editor of the Dominion, and Mr. M. L. Reading, editor of the Lytteiton Times, who arc to join the party, are now on their way to Auckland.
