DISTRESS IN IRELAND.
APPEAL FOR RELIEF FUNDS. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. At a meeting held in the Hibernian Hall to discuss the distress in Dublin, it was decided, on the motion of Mr. L. M. Isitt, that all friends of Ireland be urged to contribute to alleviate tho distress. It was also resolved, on the motion of Mr. D. G. Sullivan, "That this meeting draws attention to the fact that the generous sacrifices made by Ireland in the Empire's battles justified claims for fulfilment of the promise of Home Rule.
