HONOURING HIS DEPENDANTS. Steps arc being taken to suitably honour the memory of the late Private T. Cooke, V.C., by doing something specially on behalf of his widow and family of three children, who reside at Brooklyn. The Mayor of Wellington stated that he had I been in communication with Mrs. Cooke, | and also with the late Private Cooke's mother. The Wellington War Relief Association I also has been no less prompt in taking j action, its rules being wide enough to I cover the cases of dependants of the Aus tralian and other Imperial forces residing in Wellington. Mrs. J. B. MacEwan, the association's official visitor, paid a I special visit to Brooklyn for the purpose i of seeing Mrs. Cooke, and since then ! arrangements have been mado to supplement her income. The association will take into early consideration tho question of further honouring the doceased hero's memory.
