HEAVY ARTILLERY DOES EFFECTIVE WORK. STATION BEHIND ENEMY'S LINE DESTROYED. (Received Jane 11, 7 p.m.) LONDON, JUNE 10. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "A party of the Gloucestershire Regiment entered trenches south of Neuve Chappelle, and successfully attacked the garrison. Our heavy artillery destroyed the railway station at Salome, east of La Bassee,. setting a train on fire and damaging the track. We also obtained good results against strong points behind the enemy's lines, north of Hulluch. There has been a good deal of artillery fighting east of Ypres, our guns engaging those of the enemy. German positions -were successfully and effectively bombarded. The enemy successfully exploded six mines at Hohenzollern Redoubt, Hulluch, Neuville St. Vaast, and north-east of Albert."
