HEAVY RAILWAY TRAFFIC.

An unusually large number of Auckland residents spent, the last week-end in Wei lington, and returned home by yesterday afternoon's express. I.ast night's Southbound express-there is again only one night express from each end of the" Main lrunk line- took away some 200 passengers. Yesterday's expresses to Thames and Waihi were well filled with holidaymakers returning home. Crowded trains, both outwards and inwards, are expected to be the rule till the end of this week, when the traffic should settle down to the ordinary volume of the summer months.
