GOEBEN FLIES FROM A RUSSIAN BATTLESHIP.
LONG-RANGE ACTION IN THE BLACK SEA. ENEMY BATTLE-CRUISER SEEKS THE BOSPHORUS. (Received January 10, 7 p.m.) London, January 9. A Russian communique states : " Our torpedo-boats engaged the Goeben in the Black Sea. They then withdrew to the protection of a battleship, which fought the Goeben at long range. The Goeben had the advantage of superior speed, and disappeared into the Bosphorus."
