DASHING ITALIAN ATTACK ON MONTE ROMBON.

AUSTRIAN!? HUM DOWN STONES MI SUMMIT, DARING RAID ON ENEMY'S AERODROME. (Received August 30, 5 p.m.) Rome, August 29. An Italian official communique states: "The Austrians destroyed some bridges and part of the railway in the Fondo Valley and th? Val Sugana, in Trcntino. "One of our detachments in the Upper Jsonzo attempted by a sudden dash to gain a strong Austrian, position on the summit of Monte Kombon, which bars the advance to the Preclil Pass, but owing to the difficulties of the ground and a determined resistance by the enemy, who fought with guns, rifles and grenades, and even rolled down heavy stones, we captured only a few trenches. The enemy still holds the extreme summit. "The enemy is repairing their aerodrome at Aisovitza. which was recently damaged. Our aviators dropped 120 bombs, hitting two sheds, damaging the whole camp and causing fires. Although our airmen were under fire of the enemy's battens for half an hour they returned safely."
