THE POLICE CHANGES.
POPULAR INSPECTOR.
Scb-Inspector J. Jcssrsrov, who will leave Auckland to-morrow for Gisborne, where ho will take charge of the new police sub-district, was the recipient of a presentation from the Auckland police last night. Superintendent N. Kieiy, Inspector A. Cruickshank, Sub-Inspector W. B. Mellveney, Senior-Sergeant B. Rutledge, and all the available men were in attendance at the gathering which took place at the central police station. The gifts consisted of a handsome spirit stand and a 'arge silver-mounted water jug. The presentation was made by Senior-Sergeant Rutledge, whose remarks" testifying to the esteem in which the departing Bab-inspec-tor was held by the Auckland police, were endorsed by Superintendent Kielv and several others.
