ANXIOUS TO GO TO THE WAE. [BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Saturday. At the Supreme Court yesterday Edwad Kelly, aged 20, was brought before Mr. Justice Sim on a charge of failing to comply with the conditions of his release on probation after a conviction fa breaking and entering and theft at Queenstown in July last. The accused reported himself in September and October to the police at Invercargill, and then left and joined the expeditionary force in Oamaru. He was arrested in Wellington. A sum of £6 7s 6d was owing. The prisoner, in addressing the Court, said that he wanted to go with the expeditionary force, anl that he would have been too late if he had reported himself. He thought that there was no harm in going away so long as he made arrangements for paying the money. The accused was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment.
