THE BRITISH BUDGET.
"GREATEST OF THREE."
CARING FOR THE CHILD.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH. By Telegraph— Association—Copyright. (Received June 28, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 27. The Lord Chancellor, Viscount Haldane, speaking at tho National Liberal Club . yesterday, described the present Budget as the greatest of Mr. Lloyd George's three, because it embodied latently a co-operate system of caring for the child from birth to the end of his school life. He anticipated tho creation of a Ministry of Health.
I Mr. Lloyd George, who followed, satirically interpreted the combined Conservative and Labour protest against reducing the Budget as an encouraging feature. Had the taxes been a penny in the pound more to promote social reform, the majority of 38 would have been doubled.
