' THE MINISTER'S PROMISE.

[l)Y TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] CnßisTcnuacTi, Thursday. The Minister for Education, the Hon. Jas. Allen, when opening a new school at Akavoa this afternoon, said that it was intended next session to give further consideration to the salaries paid to school teachers. It was hoped to make things better for them, not only in the primary schools, but also in the secondary. In his opinion the teachers in the latter schools were very much underpaid, and he hoped to make their position more comfortable in the future.
