HOTEL EMPLOYEES.
NEW UNION'S AFFAIRS.
SOME DISSATISFIED MEMBERS.
A meeting of the new Hotel Employees' Union, which was formed during the recent strike, was to have been held at its office in Gleeson's Buildings last evening. Seventeen financial members put in an appearance, and also some of the members if the old union. On arrival they found that the office was closed, and that there was a notice on the door to the effect that the proposed meeting had been adjourned. until next Sunday afternoon. They excluded the members of the old union from their deliberations, and then proceeded to discuss the situation.
A motion expressing " no confidence" in the executive of the union was carried unanimously, committed to writing, and signed by the 17 members in attendance. They then elected new officers pro tern, as follows :—President, Mr. G. Phillips; secretary, Mr. N. Solomon; treasurer, Mr. J. Lew; executive, Messrs. G. Nixon, F. C. Banfield, J. Levy, S. Stewart, and A. Evans. All present signified their intention of attending the adjourned meeting of the union on Sunday.
