BIRKENHEAD BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.

■ ««, A WELL-ATTENDED meeting of electors of the Birkenhead borough was held in the Birkenhead Foresters' Hall last night, having been convened for the purpose of considering the advisability of forming a buresses' association. Messrs. Paxdington, amson, Wilkins, and Webb explained the objects of the meeting, after which it was unanimously resolved to form a burgesses' association for the Birkenhead borough. The election of a president was held over. The following officers were elected:—Vicepresidents, Messrs. J. Leonard and B. Patterson; seoretary, Mr. £. Hill; treasurer, Mr. Albert Hadfleld; committee, Messrs. Samson, Bobt. Webb, P. Queenin, MoOullough, Mariner, and Wilkins. The executive was instructed to draft rules for adoption at a future meeting, and also to consider the advisability of selecting candidates as councillors at the election at the end of April next- The meeting then adjourned for a week.
