UNDER LEAGUE RULES.
NO ENGLISH TEAM THIS SEASON.
Although the English authorities decided not to send a team to Australia this season, a message was published in one of the Sydney papers recently to the effect that several prominent Northern Union players had written to the /New South Wales League to the effect that they would bring out a fully representative team if the'Ncw South ales league so desired. In connection with this matter, Mr. J. H. Houghton, a prominent! Northern Union official, has written to Mr. D. AV. McLean, president of the New Zealand League. <.o the effect that the union, would not allow any team to tour nnlefiunder the auspices of that body. Supporters of League football may, therefore, give up all hope of seeing an English team in action in Australasia this year.
