SHORTAGE OF RAILWAY TRUCKS.
COMPLAINTS IN SOUTHLAND.
[by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS association.] Inyercaugill, Friday. A shortage of railway trucks is causing great inconvenience to commercial and business firms in Southland. The Town Council is finding difficulty in obtaining trucks for coal for the gas works, and for metal from its quarry for the roads. Representations on tho matter are being raade to the Minister for Railways by the Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce.
. A business man stated to-day that the volume of business had increased 40 per cent., while the trucking capacity had increased only three per cent.
