[BY TBLEGBAFU.~OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. The Wellington Hospital Committee yesterday resolved to recommend the full Board that Dr. Hardwick Smith (the medical superintendent) should be authorised when at Home to make inquiries for an expert bacteriologist, and that ho be empowered to engage a suitable mail at a salary not exceeding £600 per annum. The intention is that the bacteriologist will prepare vaccines of such germs as diphtheria, typhoid, tubercle, tetanus, blood, poisoning, and these preparations will bo used in the cure of the disease named or in rendering persons immune from their attacks.
