! supplying liquor to native \ : ' girls. i {BY TELTSaBAPH.—-PRESS ASSOCIATION.] f PA.x.MEnsxoN Noktm, Tuesday, Tirfi charge against the tohunga ■Hinga- ' j wata 'iropuroa, of criminal, assault on a 1 sixteeß-year-old girl, was advanced a further stage to-day. * v The evidence of Teira Hoteniri corroborated the previous witnesses as to the ' quantity of liquor brought into Motuiti Manga by the accused, and the giving of it to Emily Heta and her sister Louisa, and „ as to Emily sleeping in the .room ' with the tohunga and his wife, to effect a cure of her consumption. Louisa Heta alsp gave evidence as to the liquor given her and her sister. Witness had. eight "drinks on the Monday night. She was very drunk, but Emily \vas worse. Sergeant. Willis said that closed his case for the present j until they were able to take- Emily Heta's evidence. It was decided to adjourn the case till Wednesday next, at Motuiti pa, when the evidence of Emily will be taken. The other six charges regarding taking liquor into the pa, were allowed to stand over till,then.
