NORTHERN WAIROA SHOW.
SOME FINE EXHIBITS.
[BY TELEGRAM! —own correspondent.] Daroavhxe, Thursday. The nineteenth annual show of the Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association, held at Arapohue, was most successful. There were 1250 entries, and the exhibition of live stock was most favourably commented upon by visitors. The weather conditions were unfavourable, and early in the afternoon rain came on, which greatly affected tho attendance. Later, however, the sky cleared, and the competitions were carried out ia comfort. The produce and fruit .entries were numerous, and made a splendid show, while the industrial and cooking classes were exceptionally fine. Tho fruit exhibits were particularly commented upon by tho judge. There was keen competition in tho horse sections, and the animals were of high standard. In the heavy draughts A. E. Harding secured chief honours, and he also annexed tho championship for his light draught entire. A championship was also awarded to James Simpkins for hacks. The rattle exhibits were many, and there was not an inferior beast entered. E. Leonard secured a championship for his bull, and A. E. Harding a similar distinction for tho best cow. In the sheep classes A. E. Harding practically swept tho board with his Ilomney Marshes, and M. Harding secured all a wails in the fat sheep exhibits. Tho riding competitions attracted a superior lot of hacks.
