WAIKATO SAI.ES. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co.. Ltd., report:-— At the Te Kuiti yards on February 14, we had a yarding of 2600 sheep and 1450 head of cattle. Competition was very dead and prices were low, consequently a large number of stock remained unsold. Fleshy 24 to 31-year-old steers were required, but only a tew pens were sold, as owners generally were asking above market quotations. Store lambs, shorn, made 4s 9d to 6s 3d; good-woolly lambs. 7s 3d to 8s 6d; small two-tooth wethers. 10s 3d to 12s: forward four-tooth wethers. 14s 3d; very choice twotooth ewes. 13s to 15s: smaller two-tooth ewes. 10s 3d to lis (A: f.f.m. owes, 7s 6*l to 10s 6d: fresh conditioned 34-year steers, £6 5s to £7 7s; choice 2*-year steers, £4 15s o £5 Is; fat cows, £4 10s to £5; yearlings. £2 15s to £3 ss: weaner calves, £1 16s to £2; 18-month steers, £3 5s to £3 10s; fleshy cows. £3 15s to £4 10s. At the Hamilton yards on February 15 we had an entry of 1175 sheep, chiefly fats, 102 pics. 170 fat cattle, and 2:2 store cattle. All classes of stock were easier in price, and competition w« very slack. There was a good Inquiry for all classes, and any stock not sold were passed simply because the reserve was beyond present market quotation.
