WARNER'S MEN START WELU FOUR WICKETS PRODUCE 331. The teams are:— M.C.C.: Warner (captain), Douglas, Foster, Rhodes, Barnes, Hobbs, Strudwiek, > Vine, Mead, Gunn, and Woolley. South Australia: Clem Hill (captain), Crawford, Whitty, Stirling, Mayne, Webster, Down, Rees, S. Hill, Kirkwood, . and Blackman. . ; The weather was warm, and the attendance was three thousand. Warner won the toss, and Hobbs and Rhodes began the "batting. Hobbs glanced Whitty's first ball for 3. With the score at 13, a swerver from Whitty beat Rhodes.
