.EVERTON DEFICITS NORTH SHORE

The Association football division championships were continued on Saturday in tin." weather. At Kingsland Carlton beat Caledonian by 3 goals to 2, and Ponsonby, after a fast game, defeated Corinthian by 2 goals to nil. Everton beat North Shore at North Shore by 2 goals to 1. The results are as follows :—

FIRST DIVISION.

PONSONBY BEAT CORINTHIAN. Ponsonby pressed Corinthian strongly through both spells, and the. game was fast and often exciting. After a piece of clev. r play in the tirst. half, R. Webster sent, the leather into the net for Ponsonby with a good, clean shot. Corinthian made an effort, to equalise, but the other team defended sturdily, and in the second spell R. Webster scored again. The game ended: Ponsonby 2 goals Corinthian Nil Mr. Taggart was referee. CARLTON'S CLOSE WIN. Carlton, though successful against Caledonian, only secured the leading position after a hard struggle. Both teams played well up to form, and many fine passing rushes were seen. The score at half-time was in favour of Caledonian, Tnto and Sutherland having shot goals, while Nyberg had writ in one for Carlton. In the second half Carlton drew level, and thereafter held the top band. J. Gilmour and R. Dow both made good use of opportunities, and the. game ended :— Carlton 3 goals Caledonian 2 goals Mr. Speed acted as referee. EVERTON SUCCESSFUL AGAIN. Everton secured another win in their match against North Shore after a willing game. In the first spell Brewer shot two good goals for Everton, after bright attacking work. Shore were awarded a penalty, and Craig found the net in a skilful way. There was no further scoring in the seeoutl spell, and the final result was: Everton 2 goals North Shore 1 goal SECOND DIVISION. Gordon and Hotspur drew. 3 all. F. Fowler (2) and Edwards scored fur Gordon. St. John's beat Brotherhood A by 5 goals to 2. For St John's the scorers were Dance (2), Cowen, and bearwood (2). y.M.C.A, beat. Corinthian by 3 goals to 1. Hook, Cooml>o, and McCombie scored for the winners, and Westaway for the losers. FOURTH DIVISION. Caledonian beat St. John's by 4 goals to nil. Dee scored all four goals. Y.M.C.A. beat Tabernacle by 2 goals to 1. Orr and Williams scored for the winners, and Wallace for the losers. FIFTH DIVISION. Y.M.C.A. A heat Rcmuera by 4 goals to nil. The' scorers were Elmbranch, Edmonds, Tot-man, and .1. Roberts. Mount, Eden Iteat Hovers by 2 goals to nil. The scorers were Fowler and Marks. Edendale beat St. Metiers by 4 goals to 1.
