The Rome correspondent of the Catholic Herald states that the Papal decree, relative to children receiving the first communion at the fige of seven years has been misunder- : stood. ■ .■, - '-' •■■.(•■:■... The Pope only counsels that children should receive communion., at the earliest age possible, leaving it to guardians and father confessors to determine whether their faculties are sufficiently developed to justify their repetition of the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist.
