LADS AS IMMIGRANTS.
MR. SEDGWICK'S SCHEME. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. (Received October 4, 11.10 p.m.) London, October 4. Mr. Thomas Sedgwick, who lately made an appeal for the sum of £600 for the purpose of inagurating the experimental emigration of British lads to New Zealand, has complained to Mr. John Burns (President of the Local Government Board) that the central body, having control of the funds for unemployed relief, have declined to grant him the money re quired unless they control the selection of the boys. Mr. Sedgwick considers that such action would exclude provincial lads.
