THE OIL TRUST.
TERMS OF THE JUDGMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.
New York, November 21. The judgment of the United States Circuit Court of Appeal describes the Standard Oil Company as exerting itself to prevent competition between the . companies it controls, also to fix the purchase price for crude oil, the rates of its transport, and the selling price of its products. It had thus prevented, and is preventing, any competition in. the inter-State and international com-
merce in petroleum and its pro-
ducts between the subsidiary companies and between these and itself. Defendants, the Court held, had entered into a combination and
conspiracy, which, though legal un-
der section 1 of J the Anti-Trust Act, ' in monopolising a substantial part of inter-State and international commerce, violated section 2. The judgment enjoins the Standard Oil Company of ; New Jersey from voting on stock r of the defendant ' companies,' and exercising control of supervising these by virtue of holding stock. . - .
