TROUBLE AT BELL'S ISLAND.
INMATES ON " STRIKE." POLICE REPORT TO BE OBTAINED. Judging from reports received in town yesterday the conduct of several inmates of the Salvation Army Inebriates' Home at Bell's Island has not been as satisfactory of late as could be desired. It appears that during the past two or three days two of 'the inmates have gone on " strike'';that is, they have refused to workand have used bad language towards the Salvation Army officers. In response to the request of the officials Inspector Cullent sent Sergeant Ramsay and a constable down to the island yesterday to investigate and they will submit a report to-day. The regulations provide that certain offences can be dealt with by the Army officials, and others by. the stipendiary magistrate.
