The Hon. Geo. Fowlds, Minister for Education and Public. Health, received a number of deputations yesterday. He will attend the. University capping ceremony this afternoon. Mr. Fowlds remains here until Thursday next, when he will leave for Wellington. MR, McGOWAN AT OISBORNE. [BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.] GisBORNE, Thursday. The Hon. J as. McGowan, accompanied by the Hon. Captain Tucker, chairman of the Cook County Council, His Worship the Mayor (Mr. W. D. Lysnar), and several members of the County and Borough Councils, proceeded this morning to the Patutahi district, in order to inspect the Patutahi and Gentle Annie quarries.
