MILITARY TOURNAMENT.

Napier, Wednesday. i The military tournament in connection with the carnival was commenced to-day, when the various infantry events were got off, some taking place in Clive Square and the remainder in the Theatre Royal during the afternoon and evening. The weather was showery all day. About 460 competing volunteers were present, competitors coming from Auckland and as far South as Invercargill. Ambulance Competition: No. 5 Wellington Field Hospital Bearer Corps and Napiei St. John Ambulance (equal), 1.
