CYCLING.
[ The members of the Rudgo Club will I hold a run to the Nihotupu Falls to-mor- ! row, leaving the Pitt-street corner at nine a.m. An eight-mile road race will be held by tho Rudge Club on the 25th inst. A first prize, an eight-clay clock, has been given by ♦Mr. D. Norden, a second prize, biscuit barrel, by Mr. F. Hutchinson, and a third prize, a butter-dish, by Mr. J. Ellison. Tho entrance fee is la 6d. A novioo race, for those who have never won a race, and open to all cyclists, will be held about a fortnight later than the road race. According to one of the visitors from New South Wales, the racing at the last Austral was tho tamest yet witnessed in Victoria. A. C.'Colvin, the Austral winner, | is only a youth, but appears to have a good future before him. ■ This was his third win this season. As the M.B.C. only paid away about £250 for prize money, and the gate for tho two days is reported to be over £700, the meeting should show a profit. At a meeting at Ballarat on Boxing Day tho international mile championship was won by A. J. Clark, who was followed home by F. Macfnrland, E. \V. Morgan, and E. A. •Pje. That there is still plenty of money abroad for professional cyclists is evidenced by tho fact that, in addition to the money won and retainers for riding in his own country, the Frenchman, Guiguard, has clcared nearly £3000 in Germany alone this season in long-distance races.
