FOOTBALL. The football match between St. John's College Old Boys and Grammar School Old Boys, played on Saturday, resulted in a win for St. John's by 11 points to nil. Wbyte, Vaile, and Gierke scored tries, and Barclay converted one. ' ' WAIPA UNION.. - ; The first match of tho season, between the TeAwamutu and Kihikihi teams, was played on the Kihikihi Domain on Saturday last, and resulted in an easy victory for Kihikihi, the scores being 27 points to nil. THE GAME AT WAIUKU. A match between the Otaua and Waipipi clubs was played on Saturday, resulting in a win for the former club by three points to nil. The only score was "a try secured by T. Rees. The teams were pretty evenly matched, and a good game resulted. Mr. Aldred acted as referee. The following team has been chosen to play against Otahubu at Waiuku on Saturday next:—J. Bennett, L. The Wellington men scored ten of their points in the, first half. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.]' , •• Thames, Monday.The second round of th& Thames Hockey Association matches was concluded on Saturday afternoon, when Hauraki mot and defeated .Hauraki Rifles by two goals to one 'after a very close arid exciting game, , which was without doubt the fastest club match ever witnessed at Parawai. Both clubs had full teams arid their best players. L. Griffin and Driver each scored for Hauraki and A. Martin for the Rifles. For tho winners Pratt. L. Griffin, and Renshaw worked well together; while J. Griffin, Hockley, audi Driver did splendid service in the back division. For tho losers . Thompson, Martin, Bongard, and A. Hosking were the pick of the forwards, and Saunders and E. Hosking of the .backs.. The following is the present position of the clubs, all having played an equal number of games,, namely, four:—Hauraki, 3 wins, 1 loss, 6 points; Hauraki Rifles, 2 wins, 2 losses, 4 points; Young Men, 1 win, 3 losses, 2 points, GOLF. Miss Cooto (Paeroa); Miss Hague .Smith (Paeroa), 8 up, v. Mrs. Jackson (Wailii)./ The Waihi ladies thus won on the aggregate by one hole. Men's section: McOormick (Waihi), 8 up, v. Hanna (Paeroa); Dr. Deck (Waihi), 7 up, v. Grirnstone (Paeroa) ; Jackson (Waihi), ,7 up, v. Shaw (Paeroa) ; * W. Wynyard (Waihi), 11 up, v. Meredith (Paeroa); Aicken (Waihi), 8 up, v. Craig (Paeroa); H. Wynyard (Waihi), 7 up, v. Quick (Paeroa); Morpeth (Waihi), 2 up, v. Downey (Paeroa) ; Gooch (Waihi), .4 up, v. Wilson (PaerOa). The Waihi players won by 65 holes in this division, and on the total score by 66 holes. The Paeroa representatives were entertained at luncheon and afternoon tea by the members of tho Waihi club, and everything possible was done to make the visit pleasureablo. Dr. Deck, honorary secretary of the Waihi club, deserves praise for the complete arrangements made, and ' his efforts, and those of the various other officebearers, were recognised by Mr. Grimstone, secretary of the Paeroa club, who returned thanks on behalf of the visiting players.
