VICTORIA'S FINANCES.
SAVINGS UNDER THE NEW
AGREEMENT.

London, May, 29. The Premier of Victoria (Mr. Bent), in view of his having entered into a new agreement with the London and Westminster Bank for the inscription of loans, has decided to start for Melbourne on July 2. By this agreement the cost of management of the finances of Victoria has been reduced to £150 per million and the annual saving will be £4000, and the rate for conversion loans has been reduced to 2s 6d per cent.
