New York, January 26. Owing to the scarcity of labour in the United States, the Pennsylvania Railroad Company has decided to advance the age limit for applicants for employment from 35 to 40.

It is officially stated at Ottawa that railway contractors in Canada during the present year will require 20,000 workmen.
