MR. ROOT IN CANADA.
FAVOURABLY IMPRESSES THE PEOPLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Ottawa, January 24. The visit of the United States' Secretary of Slate (Mr. Root) to Ottawa, lias had a marked effect upon public feeling.
The Canadians have enthusiastically reciprocated Mr. Root's friendliness and sympathy, and are especially gratified -with his frank recognition of Canada's national equality with the United States.
