Accused asked for a remand, on (In- ground that counsel engaged for his defence w;is at present in Auckland. The Bench granted a remand to Thursday, the 31st inst.. hail being allowed. The injured man. who it i* alleged was struck on the head by accused with a bottle, is said to be in a bad way. reports stating that the frontal bone is splintered and the man's face fearfully cut about and disfigured.
