THE PREMIER.
LEAVE-TAKINGS EN ROUTE TO AUCKLAND.

Talmebstox North, Friday. Thk Premier passed through Palme rston .North this morning, on his way to Auckland. Headed by the member for the district, and the Mayor (Mr. M. Cohen), a representative deputation of citizens waited on Sir Joseph Ward and wished, him bon voyage and a safe return. The Premier expressed his warm thanks for the deputation's thoughtfnlness and kind wishes. Sir Joseph informed a reporter that he expected to be back in the colony for the reassembling of Parliament in June. The Premier also stated that it was not now intended to appoint a third member or the Native Lands Commission, which will, therefore, consist of the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) and Mr. Ngatu. New Plymouth. Friday. On the arrival of the mail train to-night at New Plymouth, the Premier was met by a large number of townspeople. Replying to the "bon voyage"' wishes, Sir Joseph said nothing could be more encouraging than the good wishes he was receiving from the people throughout the whole of the colony. Wanganui, Friday. Sir Joseph Ward was met at Aramoho to-day, and wished God speed by the Mayor on behalf of the citizens of Wangantii.
THE AUCKLAND PROGRAMME. The Premier (Sir Joseph Ward) will arrive in Auckland to-day by the West Coast boat. He will 'proceed to Pukekohe shortly after his arrival. It has been arranged at Pukekohe tnal the Premier is to arrive about eleven a.m. He will then receive deputations until noon. The Town Board will entertain him at lunch, after which he. will proceed to the District High School to unveil a photograph of the late Premier, then he will go to the site of the memorial lamp, where he will perform the unveiling ceremony and give a short address. Mr. W. F Massey, M.H.I!, for the district, will also be present. This evening Sir Joseph will address a public meeting in the Royal Albeit Hall, Albert-street. On Monday he will be entertained at a luncheon 'by the Chamber of Commerce, and on the same afternoon he will leave for Sydney, en route to England.
